Finance · Systems · Capital
Most businesses don’t fail to raise capital because they’re unfundable.
They fail because no one built the financial infrastructure that makes them legible to a lender, an investor or an acquirer.
BUKOM builds that layer.
Where money stops.
The name
BUKOM, pronounced “bookom,” takes its name from Bukomansimbi, the county in central Uganda where our founder grew up. The name means where money stops. For a finance firm, that is the whole idea: the buck stops here.
We are practitioners, not advisors.
How we work
Systems first. Then management. Then capital.
Systems
Build the financial infrastructure that makes the business legible: books, close, reporting, controls.
Financial management
Run it. Monthly close, KPIs, and lender-ready reporting that holds.
Capital
Once the entity is legible and de-risked, prepare it to raise.
The order is the point. Most firms sell step three before step one exists.

What we do
Three practices
Systems
Financial systems architecture that makes the business legible.
- ERP architecture. QuickBooks Online, Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Fusion and SAP S/4HANA FICO, designed around how the business runs.
- Chart-of-accounts redesign. One structure that serves management, lenders and auditors.
- Operational integration. TMS/ERP links, WIP and job costing, and cash visibility.
- ERP remediation. Fixing implementations that went live but never worked.
- Agentic AI finance workflows. Design and team training.
CFO Core Financial Management
Running the finance function so the numbers hold up.
- Close acceleration & controls. A monthly close that is fast, repeatable and audit-ready.
- Cash-flow forecasting. Rolling forecasts tied to operations.
- KPIs & reporting. Board, lender and investor reporting that holds.
- M&A integration. Day-1 and Day-100 planning and financial harmonization across entities.
- Turnaround & stabilization. Portfolio stabilization and remediation for businesses under pressure.
Capital Strategy
Preparing and de-risking the business to raise.
- Capital readiness. Positioning for debt, equity or acquisition.
- Lender- and investor-ready packages. Financials, forecasts and data rooms that survive diligence.
- Value-creation roadmaps. What to fix, in what order, before going to market.
- Transaction support. Financial readiness for sale, merger or recapitalization.
BUKOM is not a broker-dealer. We prepare businesses to raise capital; we do not raise, place or provide it.
Why BUKOM
The track record
Distressed-bank M&A structured across 19 transactions involving 27 distressed banks.
Audit-ready finance architected for a wealth-markets deposit strategy.
Oracle, SAP and Workday enterprise implementations across 8 programs, plus a QuickBooks Online startup implementation.
Banking regulatory rigor: CCAR, CECL, EPS, Basel III and COSO, in CFO core and risk execution.
Operating a freight company. Real operator, not theory.
Operator insight × banking rigor × systems architecture.
Figures reflect work led by BUKOM practitioners, including in prior public-sector and corporate roles.
Who we are
A practitioner-led firm, by design.
Every BUKOM engagement is led by a senior practitioner who has run the function, not just advised on it. That is the hiring bar, and it does not move.
We have owned the P&L.
Our practitioners have founded, financed and run operating companies. We know what the books look like when payroll is due Friday.
We work to bank standards.
Our methods come from federal bank resolution and large-bank finance, where controls, capital and reporting are examined, not assumed.
We implement what we design.
We configure the ERP, write the close calendar and train the team. The work is done when it runs without us.
Senior finance leadership across banking, fintech and industrials.
Federal banking agency, top-tier U.S. banks and founder-led operators.
Enterprise and growth-stage systems, from Oracle and SAP to QuickBooks.
Graduate business and accounting education from leading U.S. programs.

Fixed fee. One phase at a time.
Every engagement starts with a paid diagnostic that shows where the business stands and what it takes to become lender-, investor- or acquirer-ready. Each phase after that is scoped, priced and paid before work begins. No open-ended hourly billing.
